Songs you create in GarageBand for iPad cannot be opened in GarageBand for Mac (version 6.0.1 or earlier). Projects you create in GarageBand for Mac also cannot be opened in GarageBand for iPad.
Use GarageBand for Mac 6.0.2 or later to open GarageBand for iPad songs. Follow the steps below to update to the latest version of GarageBand on your Mac.
If GarageBand for Mac was included with your computer, or if you installed GarageBand for Mac from a DVD:
- Choose Software Update from the Apple () menu. Install any updates related to GarageBand.
If you purchased GarageBand for Mac from the Mac App Store:
- Download and install GarageBand for Mac 6.0.2 or later from the Updates tab of the Mac App Store.
